1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him. (",)

Johanan at vivo

Our recent attempts to put him on the stroller failed terribly. We manage to put him on stroller from vivo city's b2 carpark to asian kitchen restaurant. Its better than the last time when he wailed right outside 'giant' supermarket n we have to quickly carry him.

As he simply refuses to be strapped up when we were at the restaurant. So we let him be , have him seated in his stroller. As he is an attention seeker, my mum is his victim. He will wail n get my mum to carry him.

He will show us his angry face when we ignored him hehe

Johanan claps!

Caleb's efforts of 'clap your hands' paid off recently when he claps on his own. Caleb have been clapping johanan's hands when johanan was much more younger..

Managed to secure one shot of him clapping his hands, n lookin at the camera

Johanan on his new parklon playmat!

His new toy...recent events of johanan ,ur little adventist rolled down from the mattress (placed on the floor) to under the coffee table one day. Prompted us to buy this mat...

This picture is his first encounter with the mat...subsequent encounters include him 'scratchin' n 'jumping on ' the cartoon characters on the mat

Johanan at 2 weeks

These few weeks were unforgettable as there are alot of changing of diapers and breast feeding. There was 1 particular week when i was constipated and resorted to drinking prune juice as what i have been doing in the past.

Having gulped half a bottle of 1 litre prune juice is no joke for Johanan. Our stomachs were growling and johanan's bowel pattern were affected. Got this inner prompting to place a piece of disposable bed protector under Johanan's but when changing diaper and Caleb asked me to push baby cot further from our bed (where his diaper were changed till Karen blessed us with a Latido diaper changing station during the 3rd week ).

We witnessed how johanan struggled not to be changed , farted and poo squirted out and landed on the floor where the cot was earlier. And he got the sheepish look, dun dare to look at us haha!

He got the 'i struggled cos i have more poo coming out but daddy dunno how to take the hint' look.

The sighting of the speed of his poo squirted out from his butt is unforgettable haha!

He started to sit straight when we tried to burp him when he was only 2 weeks old! He would look at us and 'showed off' by sitting straight for a few seconds.
This photo was taken when caleb was burping him.

Johanan was 8 days old!

It seems that Johanan was very tired when he reached home. I called the nursery to ask whether i should wake him up as it has been 6 hours since his last feeding. It was then i learnt that have to wake him up by undressing him haha.

Maybe he was simply tired, imagine 'sun tan' round the clock haha

Johanan's admission to hospital

Bringing him to pd when he was 5 days old was unforgettable. As its the first time we brought him out, i thought it will be a short trip and gave him 1.5 spoonfuls of formula milk instead of 3 spoonfuls. He was wailing loudly at the pd as he was very hungry and i also cried. Concerned parents at the clinic shook their heads as i told them i did not bring any bottle or formula milk as i thought it will be a short trip. Pd clinic managed to get 1 bottle of formula milk from the hospital's nursery to appease his hunger before we proceed to admit him to hospital.

I was constantly crying when Johanan was in hospital, i cried as and when, even when i was eating my lunch at home.

We went shopping for baby cot mattress as the hand me downs were too old. We got an electronic weighing machine when pd told us to monitor his weight.

This photo was taken when we visited him at the nursery.

johanan's 1st day at home

Decided to update my blog after a friendly reminder from one dear forummer in .motherhood and parenting forum' to update my blog.

This picture was taken the very afternoon we left glen e, sleeping soundly. He woke everyone up the next morning crying for about half an hour or so as he was not latched on properly and have to be hungry for next half an hour as we need to sterilise the bottle for 30min with sterilising tablet. He stayed with us for 1 more night before he got admitted to hospital for jaundice when we brought him to pd for follow up when he was 5 days old.

Johanan has arrived on 1 feb 09!

I was admitted to hospital on 31 jan 09 to induce baby out as my weight did not increase.

My gynae have done a review of my condition after i was induced for a second time.My cervix still did not dilate and we had to choose between inducing for the third and final time or c section. We decided to induce for third time and in the mean time, an operating theatre have been booked for me if my cervix still did not dilate.

18 hours of contractions without epidural is long when i think of it.The contractions started with very mild pulling like menstrual cramps symptom and gets worse when i experienced severe backache which i did not know is a form of contraction until a nurse told me so.

I was checked numerous times for dilation but to no avail.

I had a c section on LA. And was awake during the entire process and Caleb was there to witness the arrival of Johanan at 1732 hours on 1 Feb 09 at Glen E.

Johanan is 37.5 weeks!

We have been to the gynae yesterday. As usual, our boy moved when the scanner was placed on my tummy. My gynae said ' he moved!' so have to scan again.. And added comment that Johanan is very clever..

My weight has been constant and Johanan weighs about 2.9 kg. Will see gynae again on 31 jan.

Can feel his legs poking my rib cage more frequently and forcefully!

On certain days, he will move about 40 to 50 times, with an interval of 30 seconds between each movement. Wonder what is he doing inside me?

Might have to induce labour if baby's weight increases and no increase in my weight and water bag level is lower on my next visit.

Counting down to baby's arrival..in the meantime, will continue to monitor his movements, and look out for signs of contractions and so on.

Will have more time to make preparations for his arrival as I will be on maternity leave starting 28 jan and back at work on 20 may.

Have packed the hospital bag and baby cot is already set up.My mother in law have already washed Johanan's clothes that my mum and friends have blessed us with.

I have to admit that even before he is born, he is already having alot of clothes and baby wear like bath towels, blankets, mittens, booties, pillows and so on!

Johanan is 35 weeks!

We just came back from the gynae's clinic. Johanan is now 2.6 kg. He have gained 0.1 kg over the past 3 weeks. My weight is under control.. Yeah..

His head did not turn back into breech position, and the size of his head is abit big. We have not been able to see his face as his face is facing down. Come to think of it, the last time we saw his face is when he was about 16 weeks old.

The little boy have been moving alot more frequently now. He will move when something is placed on my belly, anything with weight like the ultra scanner the gynae uses.

We will be seeing the gynae on 24 jan, and we are expecting Johanan's arrival anytime after that. His daddy estimated he will arrive during the last week of january or first week of feb which dr also agree.

I believe Johanan is born on 5 feb.. Hehe.. I like the number 5 and i am born on 5th day of the month! Haha!

Got the excitement!

Can gradually feel the excitement of being a mummy real soon last sunday,28 dec when we went to Baby Hypermart super store to look around for baby stroller.

Set our eyes on Quinny buzz at the moment, and will explore other brands like Aprica and Combi later.

My parents are more excited than us as they have bought glass bottles, bath towel wrap, hat, mittens and booties etc for the little boy.

I took out the baby carrier that a sister in Christ has blessed us with and its fun exploring the chair hehe.. It can recline and can be a rocker..

And today i started my first course of premium birds nest intake that miss chan and miss kwek has bought for my birthday present.Listening to miss chan's advice of taking the birds nest everyday instead of once a week.

It struck me that Johanan is arriving in 4 weeks time when Caleb wanted to put the rocker on the sofa in the living room and getting my mother in law to start washing baby's clothes.

She insisted must use Kodomo' baby laundry detergent for baby.

At the supermarket, i saw 3 prices for baby laundry detergent, $11 plus, $13 plus and $17.80 for 3 different brands.

My heart ached at how expensive the kodomo laundry detergent is and wanted to get the cheapest one at $11 plus and was contemplating to get the inhouse baby laundry detergent!

I grabbed kodomo's laundry detergent after hearing the Lord's spoke to me this :'You have always wanted and get the best things in life that I have given you generously all these years. Why are you so stingy towards your own son?'

Short snippets of my extravagant spending on myself flashed across my mind and my mind is renewed. I want the best and give my son just like what God wanted and have been giving me.
