1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him. (",)

Johanan is 33.5 weeks

Praise the Lord! We went to the gynae this morning and was told that Johanan's head is at the bottom & weighs about 2.5kg. And my weight is normal hehehe

His head is the size of a 35 weeks fetus currently and chances are he, might be a new year baby.

We have seen his thigh bone, his head, his back...all of which are developing healthily.

Mummy have been feeding him with all the good food with all the Christmas parties & gatherings.

Johanan is 33.5 weeks

Johanan is 30 weeks

Went to the Gynae on 29 Nov 08.

As my weight have maintained over the past 4 weeks, there is no need for me to do gestation diabetes test! Praise God!!

And we just realised that Johanan is 30 weeks old!

He is now 1.5 kg and his developmental growth is average. He was in a breech position, daddy & mummy knows that God will perform a miracle on this beloved boy, He will cause Johanan's head will turn when he is due for delivery. Amen!

Today we went for ante natal class on massage & relaxation exercises. Its time for me to start doing the exercises & stretching exercise to prepare for our darling's arrival.

Such ante natal classes have prepared to be fathers & mothers on what to expect during pregnancy & delivery.

And we are still learning... Our children are our best "teachers" in bringing them up.

Come to think of it, its time for us to draw up a list of items that our boy needs as friends have been asking us what we need. So far we have:
  • rocker cum seat
  • play pen
  • baby clothes
  • changing table with drawers (to be collected from Marcus' house)
  • silk blanket
Its high time to do homework!

Johanan is 29 weeks!

We went to gynae yesterday. Our little boy is now 29 weeks.

As my weight remains constant since the last visit, i do not have to take the gestation diabetes test.

Johanan's development is good. He is currently in a breech position which is not a cause of worry cos we know that his head will turn facing down when he is due for delivery.

He is about 1.5 kg now, he has gained 0.6 kg since the last visit. The level of fats in his body is average.

We will be seeing gynae in 3 weeks time..

Wednesday, 26 November 2008

Johanan is 28 weeks!

Our precious little one is now 28 weeks!

Johanan is very active at night, more active when he hears daddy's voice, whether daddy is talking to him or not (he moves when daddy is talking on the phone! Haha!)

He also moves when daddy puts his hand on mummy' belly, think daddy's palm is warmer and he is more responsive.

I have seen him move only once when i was in office. Can see his little finger pushing against my belly wall and moves for a distance of 1cm then stopped.

He moves at his own free will and remains motionless when mummy was staring at her belly, getting ready video to record and asked him to move (encore?).

And when mummy looked somewhere else, he moves again. Hehe

We will be going to gynae for another check on his progress this saturday.

The Overcoming Power of God's Love

Been listening to Pastor Prince' message titled 'The overcoming power of God's Love' for the past 2 weeks.

This message took place in January 2001. Pastor Prince mentioned that times of recession is times of progression for believers.

Amen to that!

Flip the newspapers and almost every page got screaming headlines of how countries, companies, families were badly affected by the economy downturn.

What we need is good news, good news of the gospel, good news of miracles, good news of edifying testimonies.

Good news can be found in His Word, His love letters to us which speaks into our lives in all seasons of our life.

Walking in Jesus love is our very first love, wanting to know more about Him and reading His love letters to us over and over again.

And it is only His love that fills and lifts us so high up that the problems that once seem so big and ugly to us now seem so small, like an ant that cannot be seen as it is now part of the scenary over shadowed by beautiful flowers and trees that God have marvelously created that we failed to notice, appreciate and enjoy its beauty as we have been focusing on our problems all the time.

Situations will turnaround as Jesus' perfect love have casted all fear out of our lives.

I blogged myself happy!

Ante natal class..

Today we attended ante natal class at kk again..

The facilitator gone through some relaxation exercises and breathing techniques with the class. Its amazing to see how some to be fathers are more involved by discussing with their spouse their experience and how to improve breathing techniques while other passive husbands just passively sat there and observe how their spouse are doing and ensure their wife did the right thing with little or no encouragement.

Some used encouraging words while others used words like 'you should have done this or tat' or simply, 'do this or that'

I think its the upbringing and the degree of bonding between spouse that differentiates the high level of spouse support even in mock breathing techniques exercises like this morning.

Some guys would give their spouse an encouraging touch while most will just sit there and cross their arms with a 'do me, i am here for the sake of being here, when do i get out of here!' attitude.

Spousal support is really important at all times.

God's promise for Johanan

Abba Father will take charge of Johanan' development and that He would knit and form Johanan perfectly within my womb.

Pregnancy and childbirth prayer extracted from chapter 16 of nerida walker's - God's plan for pregnancy'

'Thank you heavenly Father that the work that Jesus Christ did on the cross has redemed me from pain and complications, and by His stripes I am healed.

Body:you will carry my baby the way God designed you to until the perfect time for birth. Then you are to function efficiently throughout the labour and delivery without any complications or pain and harm.

You are then to recover quickly and effectively to a healthy condition and be restored from all wounds!

Amen!

Johanan's progress-6 months

How time flies, Johanan is now into 6 months old in mummy's womb.

He is mummy's alarm clock in the morning when mummy decided to sleep a little bit more.. And he will gently tap on mummy's belly and will stop once mummy is awake..think he woke me up cos my bladder is full and its giving him less space to move around..

Now mummy got some problems in a good sleeping posture, sleeping on my sides means Johanan will start kicking.. Cos he is uncomfortable..so far he is happy with mummy sleepin on her back.. Until he gets bigger then mummy have to sleep on the side liao..

When mummy is going to eat.. He will kick a couple of times..

He sleeps quite early nowadays , at about 10pm, how we know? Cos he did not respond to us when we placed our palms on our belly..hehe..

He will usually respond with a few slight taps on mummy's belly..

My identity in Christ

Extracted this from chapter 8 of Nerida Walker's -God's plan for pregnancy on How to exercise our authority.

When you understand who you are in Christ, you will realise that you no longer need to struggle with any spiritual attack or anything else that you are bound by because Satan's power and hold over you has already been broken.

This is why knowledge of who you are in Jesus Christ is so important. You can't exercise your faith and authority if you don't know what is available to you. When you pray with your authority in Jesus you are not praying in vain!

Things will happen! Sickness will flee, bodies will be healed, babies will be conceived, and lives will be changed forever!

Full baby scan

Praise the Lord!

We went for full baby scan last Saturday and we received good report, of course..

Johanan is now about 17 cm long and weighs about 300 plus grams. Abit underweight according to doctor and we are not going to let that bog us down. Doctor have verified that its a baby boy with no abnormalities detected.

Its fun to see our precious one entertaining himself by moving his limbs.. And his heart beating at 143 beats per minute and can see his 4 heart chambers bringing blood to the main artery. Can see his beautifully formed head, arms , legs and spine created by Christ..

Doctor did a thorough check on his organs to ensure that they are developing normally.

20 more weeks to go to Johanan's arrival!

God's Word

Extracted this from Nerida Walker's hot selling book- God's plan for pregnancy, chapter 6:

God's Word is His perfect will for us so we need to transform our thinking so that it lines up with what His Word says and not with how our circumstances, symptoms, thoughts, perceptions or even our expectations try to dictate us.

We need to renew our minds so that we can believe and expect to receive what God has said about us or what He said we can have.

Do not worry!Fight fear with the Word!

Now into chapter 5 of Nerida Walker's book-God's plan for pregnancy.

DO NOT WORRY!
Everyone experiences fear in different degrees. Some may have niggling concerns about certain issues whereas for others fear can be deep rooted and a controlling force in their lives.

The Bible exhorts us, however, not to worry or be anxious about anything (see phil 4:6). Worry will always grow like a weed and choke the life of the Word of God from our lives and cause us to become double minded. To be double minded means we are trying to believe for one thing while we believe or are focused on another.

To avoid being overcome by fear, we need to make the decision not to worry or entertain any thoughts of fear in the first place.

FIGHT WITH THE WORD!
To have lasting victory over fear we will need to learn to fight fear with God's Word. We need to trust what God says in His Word because if we believe God, the devil has no more ammunition.

We therefore, need the power of the Word behind us. But don't simply quote scripture-the power of the Word is released when you believe it, act on it and bring yourself under its authority!

Just came back from care group and we were watching Pastor Prince's Israel dvd series on 'how to live a care free life'.

And when i opened Nerida's book, one of the sub topics in the chapter are do not worry!

My precious afternoon nap

Yesterday was Miss Chan's birthday, the initial plan Miss Kwek and i was to take half day leave together, but due to timing problems in getting our boss approval, i went ahead with my leave and went home instead.

My greatest pleasure is to call Miss Chan that i am celebrating her birthday by taking half day leave to go home and rest, while she is working on her birthday!

Had a quality nap for about 2 hours.Got interrupted by 7 text messages though, but it still does not deter me from my rest.

Anyway, Miss Chan, Miss Kwek and myself went to Terminal 3 to enjoy our sumptous international buffet dinner at night and they have tortured me by making me look how they savoured pieces of sashimi in their mouth!

Their eyes were fixed on their sashimi as they were afraid that i will take from them while they not looking.

Reason very simple, they do not want to be held accountable to caleb if i ate the wrong food.

They will make upright declaration that i cannot eat for certain food that they take and would feast on their 'huntings' while i admire the food.

Anyway, the food at Azuru at Crowne Plaza , terminal 3 is good..and i will bring caleb to eat there when Johanan is out..hehe..

My first ante natal class

Went for the class last saturday morning. Have grown through an overview of the class and subsequent going to be more detailed like exercises and so on. There was even an informative booklet printed for my reading.

At least now i know what is 'quickening' hehe.

Recently can feel baby movements especially when i lean forward to read email, creating pressure on my tummy. And can feel some fluttering. Still finding it a challenge to swallow large vitamin pills though.

I am a blessedly blessed mother to be. Thinking back, i only discovered i am pregnant 3 nights before i depart to HCM,Vietnam in July. Have bought 2 home test kit of different brands, to ensure consistent results and have one to stand by just in case the other falls into the toilet bowl haha!

Had not had good nights of sleep before going vietnam as Caleb have been doing research on baby names.2 names for each gender.

And my boss was very stressed when travelling with me. I was walking very fast and she warned me to walk behind her, not in front of her as i kept over taking her at the travellator. And she was trying to help me to take my luggage and i refused. Then she grabbed my luggage from me. To our horror, discovered that our big boss have been behind us all these while, puzzled by whats going on must be very comical sight from the back. So i explained to him that i am 5 weeks pregnant.

Anyway, i can walk 30min in the sun to go to nike sale and 30min back in vietnam..without putting on sun block and wearing hats.. Very impressed..

Anyway, get to see gynae the following week i came back from vietnam. As I have forgotten when was my last period, i msn one of my ex colleagues to ask when was hers last month and figured out mine is around same time as our period is about the same time months ago.

Have been telling close friends and gynae that i am 5 weeks pregnant. And after doing a scan, gynae said i told him wrong date! Baby is 10 plus 1 week.Oh my! Have approached the end of my 1st trimester without knowing it!

As i was not aware of my pregnancy, have played badminton for about a month or so every week, had big serving of sashimi, drank wine at cousin's wedding.

And of course all these ceased when i learnt that i am pregnant la!

Must admit that i have stressed my Newcastle frens alot as i will as and when text them, asking questions like 'can i eat fish roe? Can i drink green tea and coke? ' hehe

Now that i am 19 weeks pregnant, was amazed by how time flies! Have reached half way mark!

Have been greatly blessed by those around me, blessing me with reading materials, maternity clothings, baby clothes, advice on eating cooked food when i in vietnam, tellin me to walk slowly and watch where i am walking (cos i almost tripped a baby sitting on high chair as well as kicking the leg of a chair the man was sitting on on another occasion). What a blessing to have people always there to bless us.

Believe and do not doubt

Came across this section in Nerida Walker's -God's plan for pregnancy.

In order to receive the answer to our prayer we have to believe our prayer is being answered without any doubt in our heart and without any room for uncertainty or compromise.

There can often be a period of time from the Amen to the answer to prayer. When something does not happen straight away, we can fall into reasoning. Reasoning is a mental reaction, and will rob us of God's provision every time. This is why many don't receive answers to their prayer because they become discouraged. But faith goes beyond what we see or hope. Hebrews says that faith is the 'substance' of things hoped for and the 'evidence' of things not seen. So, we must not be moved by what we see or feel; but rather be determined in what we believe.

Coming to terms with reality

Finally, the day has come for me clear my unwanted and unlikely to be worn again clothes in near future.

Its amazing the that I have alot of clothes but were seen wearing a few pieces throughout the weeks.

And of course, Caleb have been my "frank & honest advisor" when I asked him whether the black CUE blouse (that I bought in Australia 8 years ago) have faded. He nodded his head.

Then I asked him whether I should give it away, he nodded his head again.

Felt so happy that today is a fruitful day for me.

Happy dad (",)

Over the week, when I informed our relatives and friends that our baby boy, Johanan is on the way, they gave me a non-surprised look and made a common statement- 'Caleb must be very happy'.Many people were right about their intuition on the baby's gender. Thank God i was not the banker, otherwise i would face heavy payout for their winnings.

Have come to accept the fact that high possibility that its going to be a boy and must throw out of what my ideals for a princess going to be, dolling her up, tie her hair etc. Now must start to look at baby boys instead of girls. What to do, i got 4 nephews who used to run around and making so much noise when they were very young, about 12 years ago..children are cute until they know how to rebuke :) haha..anyway, over the years i have encountered little girls who were quite wild and active. And begins to see that girls may not be as well behaved as i perceived them to be all these years.

Johanan's growth in length

Johanan is now into his 18th week. He is about 11 cm in length and is growing normally all glory to Jesus..

Gender Revealed

We went to gynae last week and our precious one revealed his gender to us..

Faith

Faith enables you to believe for the outcome you desire. It is what you have until your answer arrives. When your faith has come and grown from the Word of God and from your relationship with Him it will be strong and steady. This will enable you to continue to walk by the Word and not by your feelings, emotions or what your circumstances dictate to you.It will draw your answer to you and it will be just a matter of time and you will walk in and possess what is yours!

Faith bridges the gaps

Have 'started' to 'continue' reading chapter 3 of 'God's plan for pregnancy' by Nerida Walker, something tat came to total halt when Olympics is on. Here is what i have copied - - - When we face uncertainties in life, it may feel like we are standing at edge of a cliff with a great chasm between us and the other side (our destination). That does not mean that we have to muster up some faith to blindly take a giant leap to the other side. We just need the Word to form a bridge, a firm foundation tat we walk on to cross to the other side. The Word is the answer!

Ultra sound scan of Johanan's brain

This is a shot of Johanan's brain, can see the left and right brain. His arms and thighs are in a darker shade.Although mummy have to continue eating calcium, fish oil, multi vitamins and folic acid till you are born, daddy and mummy believe all health blessings is from Jesus.

Ultra sound scan-Johanan's face

My gynae was unable to peep at bebe's gender as the umblical cord was blockin the view. At 14 weeks, Johanan is now 7cm long, and his eye sockets have already been formed. He must have been curious at what's going on outside mummy's tummy that gynae able to take this shot of his face. His heart beat is at 150 beats per minute hehe.. No wonder he got excited while mummy watching badminton game between Ronald Susilo and malaysian player at beijing olympics.

Mummy's little angel..

Think this shot was taken after my big tantrum earlier on

A Godly Geek Out

A Godly Geek Out ...

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on
the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was
tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set
up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will
judge who does the better job."

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed
across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power
went off..

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in
the underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their
computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:

"It's gone! It's all GONE! "I lost everything when the power went out!"

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the
past two hours of work..

Satan observed this and became irate.

"Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his
work and I don't have any?"

God just shrugged and said,

JESUS SAVES...
